Strengths: This is the perfect card for an HTPC. It is dead silent, plays 1080p flawlessly, and comes with a low profile bracket for smaller cases. Another great part about it is how smoothly the audio works with the HDMI port. Absolutely no setup or cabling is required. Once you the graphics card in the PCI- Express slot, it automatically transmits the audio AND video through the HDMI port. It is extremely easy to set up and use. I did not even have to install any drivers using Windows 7. It is truly plug and play. In addition it has VGA and DVI ports, so it is compatible with nearly any display you would like to use it with. I have had a great experience with Asus in the past and their products are always top quality and reliability. If you purchase this card, you will not be disappointed.
Weaknesses: There is only two minor flaws I have found with this card. 1 The heatsink on the card is silent, but it will block the PCI slot next to it on the motherboard. This did not affect me, but it may affect people who need to make use of that slot for other peripherals. If you do not need that slot, then it should not be an issue, and this is still an amazing card for a great price. 2 When I hooked up the card to my computer via HDMI, I initially had black borders around the screen. This issue can easily be resolved by installing the ATI Catalyst Control Center from Asus website in the support section, and adjusting the overscan settings. This is usually not an issue with most people, though.
Summary: Though it does have its few minor issues, this is still an amazing card for the price. If you do not need to utilize the PCI slot next to the card, then this is a great buy for a budget HTPC card that gives lots of performance and total silence for the price.
